I used to spend a lot of time in the library and I'm sure people won't say anything unless your having a full meal. I used to bring snacks such as apple slices as you mentioned, kind or cliff bars, nuts, bananas, rice cakes, etc. Many libraries have a coffee shop nearby so that's also an option if you wanna take a break to eat nearby. Make sure you are eating a big lunch during the day as well

No ... but the park outside the library is a good place to sit down and have a snack.

I carry a protein bar in my bag for emergencies. You can eat such a bar while walking home.

You could make your own using something like a puffed wheat square recipe with a half scoop of protein powder.

As many have suggested....protein bars or nuts. I keep some in the glove box in my car for a quick snack if I'm starving. But I can't say I've ever been forced to eat in a bathroom. :) By the way you could eat a protein bar in the library. Its called "sneaking" it. :)
