Almost 9 pounds

I am almost 9 pounds heavier than I was this time last year. It has been a rough year, but with good and bad changes. It got me thinking about how the majority of people put weight back on. This is why I think I put the weight back on.

1)Work was stressful, got a promotion a little less stress and more money.
2)My dad died, I am an emotional eater
3)Going to the gym 2 day less a week and riding my pony 2 days a week. (result of my dad passing, made me want to enjoy life a bit more)
4) I don't track or weigh my food every day like I used to.

I still eat good most days, but I will admit I have been splurging more than I should. Back to logging and weighing. Party at the end of the week so hopefully I don't put back on what I lose.

Are we destined to weigh and log the rest of our lives if we want to keep it off? Just curious.

Maybe, but I actually have a weird hypothesis on this.
Elastic. It's giving, so very giving that you can gain 5-10lbs and barely even know it! Most clothing has it.

Back in "yon day" there was no elastic, if you gained you felt it and self corrected!

So instead of logging for life try another form of tip off, daily weigh ins with your weight entered into a site like Trendweight. You will be able to tell if you are gaining and correct it. You can use logging for that bit.

More comfy than a corset and easier than lifetime logging.

(Says the lady who is back on after gaining 7lbs over the past few months logging months!)

You don't have to strictly log everything you eat for the rest of your life. Work on establishing good exercise and nutritional behaviors. After a while, you'll get much better at being mindful of how you eat. I strictly log my food when I am in a body fat cutting phase, but I loosen up a bit when I'm maintaining. It's all about balance. I hope that helps.
