I started my weight loss journey late last year - ditched my first ten pounds. Holidays, promotion to a high pressure position at work, gained it all back. Returned in early June, have kicked that first ten and five more.

I am a person who really loves variety as the spice of life. I don't do well with rigid, constructed workouts. I'm more of a run around like mad, booty dance in the kitchen, hiking, running, skipping, playful type.

Currently, by monitoring my intake, output (with an HRM) and using various online calculators, I seem to have a TDEE somewhere around 2200-2500 calories on my typical workday. I am currently set at 1700 calories, trying to eat back at least half my exercise calories, but often times coming in way under. It is something I am working on, but the biggest hurdle for me right now seems to be learning HOW to eat healthy - I come from a family of chronic over-eaters, and no one is concerned about the nutritional value of the things they are eating! I just never really learned those skills - so I'm trying to gain them now!

I recovered from an ED when I was in college. I recovered by going from caring too much about what I ate and how I looked to not caring at all. As it turns out - not such a great philosophy. From one extreme to the other.

So far, I've done well at readjusting my life - trying to make more conscientious decisions while not denying myself the things that I am craving - maintaining a moderate view instead of extreme in either direction.

I could always use more friends, as long as they are motivational (I like to believe that I am!).
