My right hip flexor is really sore right now. Last week I played hockey 3 times in 4 nights, but I spent an hour foam rolling and stretching all those nights. I was still really sore after, but thought it would go away after 3 days of just resting. It didn't... so last night I spent a long time doing more foam rolling, dynamic warm-ups, and static stretches. Today, when I woke up, it still was really sore. I will be doing more hip mobility exercises tonight and tomorrow until it gets better, but was wondering if there was anything else I could do that could speed the process up?

You're probably just sore from all that hockey. The mobility work is good but probably not going to help reduce the pain much, if at all, so just relax and let it pass. Take some Advil or something to help reduce inflammation if you need to, but otherwise you'll just have to let it pass. ;)

Sounds like you're doing the right things. Do you have tightness or soreness anywhere else?

Try a Netflix marathon on the couch.

And ice. Not fun but works. Reduces inflammation, temporarily forces capillaries to shrink. When you remove the ice the capillaries allow more blood flow and brings in fresh nutrients to help with muscle repair.

Grab a towel and wet it down, squeeze out the excess and wrap it around your ice pack. Relax.

Ice. BIG BAGS of ice. Not just little ice packs.
