Dx. with spondolysis and radiculopathy - running out for @ least 1-2 months, a little depressed

That's the story.

My doctor said that if I wanted to be certain to not have back problems again, I needed to stop running and switch to walking, biking or swimming.

He said if I wanted to go back to running, I have to wait 1-2 months (until symptoms resolve), and then get back into it slowly. He prescribed "zero gravity running" at a physical therapy office as a way to rehab. Sounded expensive and time consuming (I haven't researched it fully yet). My insurance will probably cover a good chunk of it, but still... and he also said that there's a good chance that if I go that route, the symptoms could start recurring all over again.

Regardless, I'm frustrated and a little depressed by all of this. I enjoy running. It feels good. I have a treadmill at home. It was part of my routine. Now it's just sitting there.

I'm tempted to go and try and buy a recumbent exercise bicycle right now but the last thing I need to do right now is go out and spend more money. Sigh.

Just venting.
