Edema and bloating

Over thanksgiving I ate and drank more than normal while family visited and didn't exercise. But when I got on the scale Monday after they went home, my inches and scale were actually down.
Since then I started eating better, have gone to gym, and returned to normal better habits. But I am so swollen and uncomfortable and Weight skyrocketed 4 lbs. I know it's mostly water Weight but why the delay? And inches went up slightly-like 1/2" or so.
My ring is so tight on my hand and usually spins because it's too big. My feet are ridiculous swollen. What can I do to help release the pressure and bloat. Besides drink more water and watch sodium?

I am not sure if this suggestion is frowned upon here, but have you ever taken diruex? If taken appropriately it helps with bloating. If youre to an uncomfortable point it could help! Just definitely keep drinking while you have it in your system. I take them the first three days of my period usually and find myself feeling a lot more comfy I hope you feel better soon!0

No, this is a very bad idea.looney9708 wrote: »Over thanksgiving I ate and drank more than normal while family visited and didn't exercise. But when I got on the scale Monday after they went home, my inches and scale were actually down.

I suggest not following the advice above. If your feet are "ridiculous swollen" and have gotten they way fairly quickly, you need to call your doctor. That's not normal.

Diuretics aren't needed unless you have a serious medical condition. It will come off in a few days naturally0

It can take the body a few days to process everything and respond. It's not immediately after eating. Just like you can eat at a deficit for 2 weeks with no weight change then sll of a sudden, Whoosh! Several pounds disappear in 1-2 days. Weight loss is not linear. The body is not a machine. At least you know it's water weight. It will pass soon enough.0

Are you due on?
Are you adequately hydrated?
Have you had a recent medical check.0 -
Welcome to calorie cycling! Yes you can exceed calories (once week) and loose weight, but if you exceed them every day you will gain weight!0
