Hello people, I want to know if any of you are familiar with Herbalife? I need to lose a lot of weight. And want to use it combined with exercise?

You'll get alot of replies on this, most will be like my reply:- why not just count your calories, move when you can and lose the weight in a sustainable way....
I'm sure Herbalife works ok, but its bound to be costly? MFP is free and it works! I joined in 2012, reached goal a year later and have maintained that loss for over 2 years and counting0 -
I see a lot of people distributing and using Herbalife. What are their claims? I've never been tempted to try Herbalife because my one experience with diet pills were horrific and many of the peddlers are really overweight and out of shape. I've seen a few who are model reps but not enough to be sold.
OP... You should Try using mfp first to find a sensible deficit that's sustainable. I thought counting calories would be horrible and lead to past eating disordered thinking but quite the opposite. One thing I've learned is... There is no magic secret or potion that works better than a calorie deficit. Trust me. You'll save money and frustration. Good luck!0 -
Basically it works because you "starve" 2 shakes a day less than a 100 cals?
I've used them long time ago, lost 35 lbs in 2 months!!!
But regain that plus more of course I did't learn how to eat.
Besides is very expensive, IMHO not worth the $$ or the time wasted...0 -

Buy a food scale instead. Approximately $20 at Walmart or Target. Weigh and log ALL your food. Get a true idea of what you are really eating. Once you know where you are, start making small, sustainable changes. Like drinking 8 cups of water a day, or cutting out one soda per day. Once you have mastered that change, make another one. Try adding one vegetable, or taking a 10 minute walk per day. Small, sustainable changes are what will get you to your goal.
You are not going to drink two shakes a day for the rest of your life. It isn't sustainable. And like others have said, it's expensive. Don't waste your money.

Drinking meal replacements doesn't address the reasons why you got overweight in the first place. One can lose weight on ANY diet program if they follow it. But they are ALL based on one premise..................consuming less calories than your burn. Hence calorie counting. And that's FREE to do.

Please don't give me flack until you read my entire post.
My mother is a Herbalife distributor and she gives me the French Vanilla shake mix for free in exchange for me being her chauffeur, grocery person, handy person, etc. Normally the canister retails for about $40. I drink a shake for breakfast a few times a week because I like it BUT I don't use it as my sole source of nutrition, never have and never will. That being said, I wouldn't use Herbalife at all if I didn't get it for free. Counting calories and exercise has helped me lose and keep off more weight than I would have if I relied on Herbalife or other diet shake mixes.0
