I joined MFP a couple months ago to help me lose weight. I have been keeping track of my food and have lost between 25 and 30 pounds with at least another 70 to go. My calorie count is 2000 but I always try to stay less then 1500 because I'm not sure if I am counting correctly. I am 51 years old and weighed 295 pounds when I started. I had a stroke in October of 14 and have a bad arthritic knee so I excercise very little. Just what I get doing things around the house. I have been unable to work because of the stroke. I am not going to join a gym or anything like that.

Hi there, my story is similar to yours. I am 59 in two weeks time, had a heart attack in January 2014, followed by a stroke in February 2014. I have managed to lose 32 lbs with only slow walking for exercise. My calorie allowance from MFP is 1270, which I manage to stick to most days. I have 5 lbs to go to get to target and it is taking ages!! But, I will persevere and hopefully, will finally get there. Good luck to you.0

Good luck to you! Do you ever get a craving for something but nothing in particular but No matter how much water you drink that craving just never goes away ? You are not hungry but just feel like you need something.0

It doesn't happen often but, if I do crave something, I tend to eat it and log it, even if it takes me over my allowance! As I said, it doesn't happen often and I am quite strict with myself.0
