My apartment complex's community room, is 1 of 3 places weekly; that hosts free events. This week includes a 1 on 1 meeting with a Dietitian. I haven't ever been to 1 before & I hope to have approximately 10 minutes, with them; so I want to make the most of it because I might never have the chance, to meet; with 1 again but I'll suggest to the event organizers, to orchestrate such an event; about every 6 months. Especially since the dietary needs of those of us, whom do elect to meet; might change within that time frame.
So if you haven't been to a Dietitian, what would you ask or if you have been to 1, what did you ask? While I do understand that all of our dietary needs aren't going to mesh, some of them might & therefore'll provide me with ideas of questions to ask, either how you'd/you've would ask/asked or I could tailor your question, to suit; my situation.

I have been to a nutritionist, which I guess is the same thing. I asked her how many calories a day I should eat and how to break that down into the various food groups and then for suggestions of best things to eat from within each food group. She had me keep a food journal, which was very useful and instructive (but we do that by logging on here). Good luck! You could learn a lot even in 10 minutes.0

If you are already using MFP & logging your food, you might show her your diary and weekly macros/nutrients, and ask how she would recommend tweaking your diet and assessing your goals & methodology.0

Print out a typical week or 4 days of what you are eating and quantities and cals, so that you can cut right to the chase and don't waste your time covering stuff you already know. Most nutritionists assume that people under-report what they eat, so bring documentation.0

No, nutritionists and dietitians are completely different. One requires only a few courses, usually online where as the other requires a bachelors degree.0 -
I would start with a trick question like, "What should I eat to keep my cholesterol low?"
If she answers with anything other than, "Dietary cholesterol has no effect on your blood cholesterol, so you should get more exercise," then she's a hack and you should leave. Otherwise, proceed with any questions you have.0 -
