Hi MFP friends,

I recently switched my birth control and have been having major food cravings. I feel like I'm starving all the time, even though I've already eaten my allotted calories for the day.

Anybody have any suggestions for how to handle these?

Thanks!

What I personally do is try to drink a lot of water, it really helps my cravings!

I dunno. I have low calorie/high volume cutting foods to help me through.

what is your calorie goal? If it's set too low (1200) then that's the issue not the birth control.

Save some calories for when you get these cravings and eat whatever it is you are craving, just weigh it out on a food scale and make it fit. I like to eat at night and always save a few hundred calories for just before bed.

    Get more:

    -water
    -fiber
    -protein
    -fat

Ask your pharmacist how long you should stay on this before trying a different prescription. There are so many BC options available today that there might a better option out there for you.

I specifically choose a birth control that eliminated periods and gives the same dose of the same hormone consistently. No cravings or monthly water weight gaining here. It's the bomb

Thanks ladies! Yeah I'm going to be switching to a different brand soon. This is not for me. Just hope I don't gain 10 Ib's in the meantime!
