Recipe name MAC N CHEESE

Number of servings @ 1 cup
Serves people 8

Cabot - Extra Sharp White Cheddar Cheese, 12 oz (in cube) 1,320
Silk - Original Almond Milk (Unsweetened), 1 Cup (240 ml) 30
Swanson - Chicken Broth - 99% Fat Free, 1 cup 5
Barilla Plus - Whole Wheat Penne, 12 oz. 1,200
Country Crock Light - Margarine, 2 tbsp 100
Onion - Sauteed Chopped Onion, 0.5 cup
Martha White - Self Rising Flour, 1/8 cup
Add Ingredient            
Total: 2,748
Per Serving: 344




Boil noodles until el dente set aside
In larg sauce pan melt margarine , add chopped onion
Once the onion becomes translucent and margarine is bubbling add two tbsp of flour
Whisk until it becomes sticky ( rue)
Add silk and broth
Bring back to a boil stirring constantly Approx. 5 min or until it begins to thicken to a runny gravy add pepper here
Remove pan from heat add cheese allow to melt .

In a casserole dish add drained pasta
Cover and mix with your cheese sauce
Bake in oven at 400 for about 30-45 minute or until it browns and bubbles through

Each serving is approx. one cup

Can add any veggie t the dish ( uncooked) broccoli cauliflower anything you can think of ;)

    Too many carbs for me. We are on a low carb high protein program

    I've read some recipes that replace the pasta for squashes !p too ! I've cut waaaay back on pastas ....but my family still wants them from time to time ;)
