I have the lap band, but nothing has changed recently except the fact that I feel sick while trying to drink water. I even took a Zofran and it did nothing. What's wrong??? Why do I feel sick??

How much water are you drinking at one time? Are you sipping or gulping?
How long ago did you get the lap band? This may be a question for your doctor.0 -
I deal with this constantly since I have gastroparesis. What helps for me is drinking room temperature water (the cold is too shocking for my stomach) and taking sips instead of just gulping it down. I also found that having food in my stomach helps? Could just be me, but if I drink water on an empty stomach, it almost always results in nausea.0

Is it only when you're drinking water? I'd call my doctor asap.0

I got the lap band a year and half ago almost. It just started today. And yes it's only water. Warm water is worse than cold. And I have to sip my water due to the lap band. I take tiny sips. But I've been on a liquid diet for 3 days now to jump start my weight loss again. The past two days I didn't drink water at all. I started drinking water again today. Not only am I nauseous from it, but I'm having sharp pain in my lower left abdominal area too and a dull lower back pain. I've been on liquid diets for two weeks plus so I don't think it has much to do with it...
what should I do?

Yes. I mean I wake up, have a cup of coffee. Drink water all day long. Have 2-4 protein shakes. Have a diet dr pepper. Green tea and sleepy time tea. That's it. No solids. Not only am I trying to Jumpstart weightless, I'm giving my band a rest.0 -
I have to sip water, prefer room temp because cold gives me stomach cramps, and I try not to drink on an empty stomach for the same reason. Maybe one of those is also an issue for you?0

When you were on the liquid diets before, were you using the same brand of protein shakes?
Just curious. I agree that you should consult your doctor.0 -
Go to your surgeon. Not rocket science.0

The band can slip. That's what I'd be worried about with an all-liquid diet and new nausea.0
