I have just started jillian michaels banish fat and boost metabolism dvd, I did a 40 minute workout and had my HRM on, from the average calorie counter it said I burnt 517 calories but when I used the HRM it said 118 calories, surely that cant be right ?

I am female

The smaller you are.....the less you burn. Your HRM is correct.

Trust your HRM. I'm smaller than you and that's about what I would burn as well...sometimes it doesn't pay to be small, eh?

I am an inch taller than you and a couple pounds heavier and I burn around that as well. Unfortunately, us 'tinier' people don't get the huge calorie burns :( it sucks lol

What type of HRM do you have? I know we're all different, and I'm taller than you, but I can burn 118 cals on a 20 minute walk with my dogs with stops for their "business", so for 40 mins of BFBM, which is no walk in the park, I'd think you'd burn a bit more. Does it have a chest strap?

its just a watch, no chest strap with it, im thinking of getting another one with a chest strap just to get a more accurate reading
