Does anyone have any reccomendations for working out with a leg injury.. I recently fractured my ankle and tore my anterior ligaments just as I had started to get back into the swing of things! I really don't want to let this side track me but I'm at a bit of a loss for seated workout ideas that don't put any weight/pressure on my feet!! I've been doing the same 2 seated workout videos by kymnonstop on YouTube but feel like I need a lil something more! Any recs would be greatly appreciated!!
I'm told I'll be out for about 8weeks.. Pre injury I mostly just did yoga and biked!!
Xo

Swimming. You can do most strokes without moving your legs and only using your arms.

Ask for a referral to physical therapy. They specialize in this area.

Talk to your dr and/or a physical therapist. Swimming is going to be the most likely answer.

I had a bad ankle injury once, and I tried to do mat workouts, even tried to get creative by leaning my calves or thighs on a swiss ball for some movements - it was very tricky finding positions and ways to leverage my weight to not put pressure on that ankle.

I know you're frustrated, but just let it heal and do those chair workouts for now - unless you've got a waterproof cast and can swim - then do physio.

Meanwhile, focus on nutrition and other things. (By "nutrition" I mean focus on getting a good variety of nutrients, at maintenance calories, which is needed to heal. Forget weight loss for now. I've got something right now and it's like a game, trying to get as much calcium, B6, Vit C, phosphorus, etc as I can, haha.) Eight weeks will go by quickly.

Go for a walk everyday on crutches, great for triceps and traps.

Just don't go shopping as it's really hard to carry things!
