Looking at myself in the mirror

So I reflected a bit on how much weight loss has changed how I view myself.

Looking in the mirror. It’s an everyday occurrence, it’s unavoidable. Right? Well I could definitely argue otherwise. I remember in the beginning of my weight loss journey I would run past the mirror before entering the shower, keep my eyes down near any reflective surface. If I did see myself I stopped dead, starring for a brief moment, horrified and ashamed. To me my body was the symbol of despair, failure. Every reflective surface was a reminder that the fantasy world where I wasn’t that big, where my eating habits hadn’t led me to this was fake. Every day I could see the problem starring me back in the mirror. I just chose to ignore it, deal with it another day.

Last week I challenged all the ladies on my FL to spend more time naked in front of the mirror. So often we avoid really SEEING ourselves...Not just what's on the outside, but on the inside as well. I make it a point AT LEAST once a day to stand in front of my mirror, stripped of everything but my soul, and smile
