I'm giving up on my old polar ft4. I keep having connection problems. I rinse it after every single use, I've replaced the batteries in the watch and the transmitter, and I've replaced the strap. I'm on a really tight budget, so what's the best basic but accurate hrm? I don't care if it syncs with mfp, I'd rather deal with that manually. And I don't care for the kind of fitness watch that you wear all day, just want the kind with a chest strap for exercising. Thanks!

Do you mean accurate for HR? Almost any chest strap HRM should be OK.
Accurate for calories is a completely different matter!
(BTW - the newer H1 Polar transmitter seems far more reliable than the older style one that came with my FT7)0 -
The polar H7 (chest strap hrm) is about $50.0

Thanks! Guess I'll look into a newer polar, hope it lasts longer.0
