Is anyone aware of this new powder supplement that claims to get ketones in your body artificially? Anyone currently taking it? Thoughts?

Why would you want to do that? You can do it yourself without a powder and extra cost. But I guess it can be hard for some.

Save your money. Ketosis is free. If you have glucose in your body, putting ketones in would be useless.

In my experience, product marketing claims rarely approach the truth.

Acetone is a ketone also. I might as well drink nail polish remover for a lot cheaper (though that would kill me).

Think about it. If there was a magic pill to make weight loss easier, nobody would be overweight.

Things that really can improve energy and mental sharpness, 1. a good night's sleep, 2. a brisk walk, 3. a healthy diet, 4. strength training, 5. a small amount of caffeine. Things that give you the impression that you are energetic and sharp, 1. crack, 2. meth, 3. some mothers.

    You win!

couldn't identify what they are actually selling. "Exogenous ketones" are a thing, being studied to help with certain conditions, extreme military applications or to get people into ketosis quicker.

    No personal experiences or connections.

Just say NO to diets. No one needs to eat anything special to loose weight, excepting those that have special medical needs, calories in/calories out. Eat less move more. Don't waste your time and money on the next snake oil product.

Looks to me like a very efficient way to separate a fool from his/her money.

Question 1) why would you want to get ketones in your body artificially?

"Ketones are produced when the body burns fat for energy or fuel. They are also produced when you lose weight or if there is not enough insulin to help your body use sugar for energy. Without enough insulin, glucose builds up in the blood. Since the body is unable to use glucose for energy, it breaks down fat instead."

Ketones seem to be a by-product or in use when insufficient glucose

It's kind of like taking a urine supplement, isn't it?

    Do not understand

    You win the thread! :)

Since keto diets seem to be so popular, it was only a matter of time before this sort of scam surfaced.

    Supplements that work:

    Creatine
    Steroids
    Human growth hormone
    Caffeine
    Insulin
    Clenbuteral
    Duretics
    Pseudoephedrine

If it's not on that list, it's probably BS

Because it's regulated by DSHEA and not FDA, sellers can say whatever they want as long as they have the "disclaimer" label on the side.
