Hello
I was reading quite a bit about chalean extreme and p90x. At the moment I am doing the 90day shred but afterwards and over the winer I was looking to start one of the named above programs. What are the differences? Which one do you prefer and why?
I saw some videos on youtube of p90x results and this is pretty amazing. I did not find that much about chalean extreme though.
It would be great to hear a few opinions!
Cheers,
Daisy

Daisy,
Either Program would be a great choice if you're up for the challenge. Chalene Extreme is a great program geared towards women and is based on the principal that muscle burns fat. You will do Cario, Weights and Abs in this program.
P90X is from Tony Horton. Now the Grand Daddy of all the Beachbody programs. This program is based on Muscle Confusion.
Always keeping your muscles guessing so their is no Plateau. This program is actually 3 programs in 1 with the Lean, Classic and Doubles program.
The classic program you will do 3 days a week resistance training, 1 day of Plyometics (jump training), 1 day of Extreme Yoga and I day of Kenpo Karate. This is an awesome program.
The lean program is 1 less day of resistance and an exrtra cardio day for faster weight loss but less building of muscle. So the scale moves faster because you don't build as much muscle but rememer, muscle burns fat (from above).
The doubles program gives you the 3 extra cardio days doing Cardio X in the evening or mornings depending on your schedule.
Personally I did P90X and go amazing results. I did the doubles to get leaner faster.
You really can't lose with either progams. Just figure out what your goals are and go for it.
If you'd like help with either program you can order if thru my website (no pressure, order it from where yo want) and it will assign me as your coach and I would be happy to help you reach your goals.

Hi
Thank you for the comprehensive information. I get the feeling that the P90X is more effective for some reason...I'll see maybe some more people will frame there opinion. I would really like the idea to buy it through your side but I can get it cheaper elsewhere and I am only a poor student. Also I am in Europe so the DVD probably won't run in my DVD player.
But thank you so much for your help! I won't start either of the programs until September anyhow so still some time to think!
Cheers again

there is aChaLean extreme thread here on MFP. Its a great program. it really depends on what kind of trainer you like to work with. ChaLeans program is progressive in three different phases working you up to lifting heavier weights as well as including some cardio and ab work. I personally love Chaleans style of motivating so that is why I chose it over p90x.0

I see! I just thought that P90X offers more range of workouts as you do loads of different things and I felt that you don't have as much variety with the chalean workout. I like the Yoga in P90X. I guess it is a tricky one. I have read about them both but I would be interested in a direct comparison to see the pro's and con's on each side.
Cheers
