Peri-workout carbs

Have been trying this for the last few weeks and was wondering if anyone else has tried it before. Basically idea is to eat 50-100g of complex carbs ~1-2 hours prior to my workout then another 50 or so of rapidly digestible carbs (poptarts in my case) immediately post workout and other than those times I pretty much stick to protein and fat. Looking to recomp/maybe tack on a few pounds of lean mass. Thoughts?

i don't think there's any appreciable benefit to doing this for the vast majority of people. the only time i really concern myself with pre and post is if i'm doing a long training ride or racing, but i don't really concern myself with this stuff for day to day workouts.
recomping and/or putting on mass is going to have more to do with your overall diet exercise than timing or pre and post workout nutrition.0
