Dislocated rib, intercostal muscle strain

Anyone ever have this? I dislocated a rib about a week and a half ago. I got it popped back in a few days later before I even realized ribs could dislocate, I thought it was just muscle strain.

Anyway, struggling with the strained muscles now, was doing better, then while cycling tonight I must have been more tense because the bumps on my fairly flat street ride (driveways) really flared up the pain.

Anyone heal from this that has some tips?

Ice is your friend! Ice for 10-20min 2-3 times a day. With a strain there is inflammation. You can only reduce that with cool, heat will increase it. Find a good massage therapist(proper 2200 hours or more of education please) or physio, and if Chiro is your choice go back a few more times and make sure that rib stays where it should. Take it easy, those tiny little muscles are tough but so easily irritated and re injured.

Thanks. Yeah I haven't iced much, the rib is awkwardly under/behind my right breast so unless i lie down its hard to ice. Then is hard to get back up. Been popping turmeric, ginger, cissus, and all the usual glucosamine, calcium stuff I normally take. I upped the turmeric and ginger. I've been feeling better so the pain after my ride was a surprise that prompted the post. I had my SO dig out my soft cold pack from the back of the freezer so I have it ready in case I have another flare up after a ride. Determined to at least keep up the cardio if I can't do anything else!

This one subsided with 4 ibuprofen and 2 miller lites. I think I'll reroute to a smoother riding area. I didn't think to tonight because I wanted to measure the 4 laps. (10.33 miles).
