Energy foods before working out?

I need some energy! I drink a cup ginger green tea(nothing added to it) before I work out. What do you eat/drink before a workout?

    Usually candy, sometimes coffee

    i usually eat an apple in the car in route to the gym from the office.

    I used to take a pre-workout drink mix prior to many workouts. Nothing food-wise, whatever my last meal was.

    I prefer to workout on an empty stomach if i go first thing in the morning. If I go later in the day I usually will have almonds, greek yogurt or fruit depending on what time I ate lunch. My problem is I am super hungry after the workout, but I can't eat too much before then I feel sluggish. This is when I tend to overeat. I always have a snacks in the car but they just cut it sometimes. I also try to have my dinner cooked so I don't over eat on junk while I'm cooking.

    I find coffee and a banana to be the best pre-work out.

    I usually work out first thing in the morning and have a cup of coffee and a protein bar about 1/2 hr before I start. On my long run mornings I add a mini bagel for some carbs to help me get over the 45 min - 85 min hump I always go through, then a gel/jelly beans/gummy or whatever just after the hour mark while I'm running.
