Fitbit "Zone"?

What does being "in the zone" mean? I get that it wants me to burn more than I eat, but it's giving me weird stats. I've eaten 1521 calories today (yesterday I guess) and burned 2566, so I'm "in the zone," however, below that it says I've gone over my calorie goal by 735?! I should have 45 calories left since I'm set to lose 2 lbs a week. What is going on? Am I misunderstanding something? Tomorrow, when Fitbit and MFP decide to finally sync, MFP will say I had 45 calories left yesterday, which is correct, so what am I missing?
