I'm too fat to breathe, but I get bored walking... Any other suggestions on exercise that I can tolerate?

Do you listen to music while walking? That keeps it from being boring. What other activities do you like? Ex. Bike riding, dancing, swimming etc0

Maybe beginner's yoga?0

I like yoga and dancing. Those are both great suggestions. Thank you!0

You would probably be able to lift weights, I've been sick with bronchitis and once the worst was over I was able to do weights without breathing problems. Water aerobics is another good one! Just start slow and at your pace, whatever you decide to do. Each week it will get easier!0

Weight lifting may put undue strain on joints already coping with morbid obesity ...best to approach with care and with specific expert advise
Water based activities are good
Also downloading music you love and borrowing a dog for your walks0 -
If you get bored walking, consider listening to podcasts or audiobooks! I wouldn't walk half as much as I do if I didn't listen to my podcasts & audiobooks while I'm out.

I've seen Aqua Zumba classes at my gym. If you like dancing, you'll probably like Zumba. And doing it in the pool should be easier on you joints while also giving you a full body workout from the water resistance. Aqua aerobics classes are fun too, especially when it's really hot out!0

Leslie Sansone walk at home DVD or you tube. Just go at your own pace.0

google 'feet and ankle stretch video' or 'posture stabilizing exercise' to build the tiny muscles that support and stabilize your legs for walking. Most of these require no equipment and can be done anywhere.

Recumbent stationary bike. It's wonderful0

What do you mean too fat to breathe? Do you have asthma or just out of shape? Well anyways you could try to walk on incline, or swimming is generally easy on the body with great benefits. Like she said ^ the recumbent stationary bike is very nice. Elliptical is easy on joints.0

Leslie Sansone walking DVD's and her Burn Body Fat Dvd's with wts. Awesome. I have been doing them since 10/26/15 along with treadmill and outdoor walks. WOW!! I feel leaner and stronger. You can get them free on YouTube.com0

What does "too fat to breathe" mean? If you mean you get out of breath while e.g. running, this is normal for a beginner regardless of weight. If you suspect there is somethign really wrong with your breathing, please talk to a dr.0
