Replacement for BodyMedia band?

BodyMedia went seriously downhill after the Jawbone buyout. Now, they're ending the service completely as of January 31.

The problem is, I can't find another device that claims to accurately calculate calories burned from activities that aren't step-based. BodyMedia used to do a great job of knowing when I was working hard without necessarily taking steps (e.g., lifting weights, exercise bike, etc.). I don't get a chance to walk much, plus I prefer other exercises, so accurately counting those calories is important to me.

Are there any current devices that do this?

The fit bit charge hr catches other exercises. A few anyway. Outdoor cycle is the one for me. It just knows. Amusingly as I was cruising around seveal stores today with my hand on the shopping cart, it registered me for 16 minutes of some very light cycling.

Walk, run, outdoor bike, sport, elliptical and aerobic workout are the exercises the band and app now catch. I can only speak for the outdoor bike on nailing the accuracy of when I started and stopped. I use endomondo at the same time and the times match.
