So I am diagnosed with MTHFR mutation a1298c heterozygous. Is anyone familiar with this? Well, I just learned I can not have folic acid but I NEED folate. I also need to avoid foods that have folic acid as well. Anything enriched or fortified with b vitamins is a no-no. What the the fortified foods with b vitamins I can't have? Is there a list somewhere or how can I tell if the foods have been fortified or not? Thank you in advance for any help!

Probably best ask to be referred to a dietician or specialist in your condition.

    Yes.

I can answer the how you can tell if the food is fortified question. It will either say 'fortified with <specific b vitamin>' or it will just have the b vitamin in the list of ingredients. It will be about guaranteed not to be near the top, so you will need to read it carefully and know all of the standard names for the b vitamins so you can identify them.
