Tracking exercise on MFP with a wearable tracker?

Do you input exercise, or just leave in whatever the tracker reports? Curious because when I was manually inputting my daily walk MFP gave a higher calorie count vs. what the daily tracker is importing.
Not a big deal really, just seems that some activities may be more/less strenuous and w/no heart rate monitor the wearable seems to count all steps the same.
TIA!
P.S. I have a Garmin Vivofit if that makes any difference.
