Working out through illness and injury...

So I am not an avid exerciser, but I am trying to get back into it as I was several years ago.

BUT I have been having a bad stream of luck lately and wanted to see what others do in their exercise routine through illness as well as injury.

Long story short, I have been sick (sinus infections) off an on for a couple months now, and I'm trying to recover from a random foot injury (nothing broken, but it just started hurting to walk on it) from leisurely walking.

Maybe you should see a podiatrist. I've been known to injure myself doing stupid things but walking wasn't one of them. I dislocated a rib 2.5 weeks ago using very improper form and too strong of a band for my out of shape body. I have to treat my ribcage gingerly, but have been able to cycle every other day. As for sickness, walking or very light cycling would be the only things I'd consider. I would focus more on supporting my immune system with healthy food, and rest.

Yeah, a podiatrist is in my future, but it will be a while before I can see them due to being a "new patient". I need to find some things to do in the meantime. I know there are some strength workouts that would not include the use of my feet, but I'd like to work out my entire body if possible. Also, I like cardio workouts.
