You need to know the right things and forget the "woo" Whatever you heard you should do because of your body type, forget it. It is woo.

Don't try, just do. Weight management is simple - no, I didn't say it was easy. You have to resist a lot of temptation and you may have to force yourself into doing some things you don't feel like. You must be patient and forget seeing results on the scale from day to day. Weight fluctuates naturally from day to day. Two to four weeks of doing the same thing consistently, is the smallest amount of effort and time to see any real change. But you will feel better and more energetic almost immidiately, if you eat better and move a little more, without overdoing it. Food and exercise is a lot like medicine, it's dose-dependent. Too little may not have an effect; too much can be lethal.

If you do the right things, it will produce results, and if you don't worry about things that don't matter, it will be easier. It takes some effort, but it is not going to kill you. Weigh everything you eat that is not prepackaged, but cook as much as you can yourself. Use the recipe builder. Make sure you are using the entries that have the correct data, or create them yourself. Eat food you like, but make sure you eat the right portion sizes.
