So had a friend over from scot and we ate out for 2 days though I had fruit on me as much as possible, drank water and tried to have healthy options as much as possible.
Monday-wed I worked my butt off in gym and cut calories to 1200 instead of 1400 to just help me with getting back into the way ive done things so far - but scales say 2lbs gain. If i weighed Sunday night i would accept that but after 3 days of constant gym work and eating healthy as well as a lot of walking when she over.
Just was doing so well and feel annoyed as my clothes are way looser and I felt lighter. Always the way when i feel lighter and people notice weight loss I then have gained.
I know its only 2lbs and normally when my friends over from scot we go wild and they are the weeks i put on 4-5 but i was careful. Is cutting down to 1200 not helping?
Just trying to not let this ruin rest of my day and week.

Eating 1200 calories is more of a calorie deficit, so it's definitely helping, though unnecessary in my opinion. 2lbs is inconsequential, you can gain that from water retention alone. Don't be too hard on yourself, life is for living. Don't take that the wrong way: Eating healthy 90% of the time is important. But use that 10% to enjoy yourself, and perhaps reward yourself for your hard work. Many people in the fitness world turn into hermits to keep their figure, and that's really just not possible or enjoyable for the majority of people. Keep it up and stay motivated, don't dwell on it.0

I totally get that. Just i committed to a whole regmine and do Personal Trainer with my bf and lost a good amount in 2 weeks. I accept those 2lbs happily as before used to be worse but was just I did a lot of exercise after and not shifted anything. I lose better when Im a hermit but do get you can't hide away in life.
Just don't get people who have what they say a 'bad' week and still lose whereas I will always gain no matter what I eat.
I have 2 things to go to next week and now scared to set myself back even further.0 -
Stress is probably the worst possible thing to maintaining a fit lifestyle. Don't even compare yourself to anybody else because they are not you. Just take a deep breath, enjoy some relaxing music, and tell yourself everything is going to be alright. You're strong enough, and capable enough. You are a human being blessed with consciousness and you know that you deserve to look and feel how you want. Keep putting in the work, and you'll get the results.0

It happens. Understand that some of the weight you gain from a bad week is water retention due to the higher salt content in restaurant foods than fresh foods. In addition, if you've been working out a lot harder than you usually so, you are likely retaining water and glycogen in your muscle tissue, which would result in an weight gain, but not a fat gain. The water weight should come off fairly quickly once your body adjusts to what your doing and gets its osmotic balance back. As long as you keep portion sizes in mind and log what you eat when you go out, it shouldn't have a major impact on your progress. 2lbs is within tolerance for daily weight variation, so it could also be normal fluctuation. Make sure you weigh at the same time, on the same scale and in the same clothes each time for best results. Even then, variations in water in your system, undigested food in your intestines and a host of other things can affect the results as well. Typically, tracking body measurements with a tape measure is going to give you more accurate results than just looking at the number on a scale. Hope that helps.0

Totally agree with this and I preach it at others. Just needed someone to tell me it too. I seem to have a slight bladder infection also and hoped that might have me retaining water until it clears up. I was all for just being about the inches but PT and bf say I need to focus on weight first as got a few stone to go. So lost 6lbs first 2 weeks with trainer and then gain 2 I feel like my 'roll' has stopped. I just dont want to be an up and downer on scales despite being there every day working hard and keeping to 1400 calories.0
