Hey everyone :)

Today for breakfast I had leftovers from last night. I had oven roasted drumstick chicken legs with oven potatoes (no olive oil). One drunkstick was 89 grams and the other was 95 grams. Then I had 155 grams of oven baked potatos. I was wondering if anyone knows approximately how many calories this would be. :) I tried checking the food datebase, but it wouldn't let me enter grams, just sizes (Small, medium, or Large).

Try finding another entry that has the measurements in either grams or ounces. They usually then give you the option to change the units.

I could find any entries with grams, but I was googling and looking on other sites. I estimate the meal to be around 487 calories in total. 170 cal per drumstick and 146 cal for 155 grams of oven potatoes. Does this sound correct :)?

Search "usda chicken leg" and you'll find entries.

Yes, @jenniator, your calculation sounds correct based on the USDA food database: http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods. I usually look for USDA entries in the database and just do a quick confirmation between the database and the USDA site to make sure the entry is correct.

Depending on whether or not you ate the skin, these are the entries you use for the chicken (not including the weight of the bone):
Chicken, broilers or fryers, drumstick, meat and skin, cooked, roasted
Chicken, broilers or fryers, dark meat, drumstick, meat only, cooked, roasted

    Potatoes:
Potatoes, baked, flesh and skin, without salt [or with salt]

Go to http://ndb.nal.usda.gov/ndb/foods to find the correct way to word the entry, then copy and paste that into the MPF database.

Wow thanks guys :D!!! I'm sure calculations will be slightly off since I'm in the Netherlands, but it's a great estimate.
