A Quick Question

I just bought a little stair stepper but can't find a way to log the activity here. Also, if I just step up and down on this thing without actually jogging will it do me any good? I have a hole in my heart and had two until a few years ago and run out of breathe quickly while even walking at a faster pace than normal. I am hoping to correct this in order to lose weight and be healthier, but I do not want to over do things and possibly harm myself.
