Hi all,
Im about to start on a course of IVF treatment and im wanting to know how much weight people gained while doing this and was it easy to lose after the treatment?
Im not embarking on this for my own fertility issues im donating oocytes to another person so please no reminders about weight gain in pregnancy and it being the least of my worries etc. Im wanting to know so i can prepare myself mentally as i have been doing really well with weight loss lately and i can finally visualise getting to my goal.
Thanks

My wife gained a bit, but ours was long enough ago that I am not sure of the relevance. I assume they will still be pumping you with a lot of hormone shots unless there have been some major changes. She put everything else on the back burner and did exactly what the doc asked as far as diet goes, and it was not eating at a deficit.0

Thank you, yes its still a tonne of hormone shots. Currently my fridge looks similar to a pharmacy.0

Yeah, I remember a coworker talking about the hormone swings during pregnancy and I told him those are nothing compared to the roller coaster that leads up to it when doing IVF.0

I did gain and ultimately the depression from the whole process (including miscarriages) led to me gaining a whole lot more. Only just getting my life back on track after divorce.
Not relevant to your question though - hmm, the drugs can be harsh, so treat yourself kindly. Being an egg donor it's only for a few weeks. The drugs may linger a bit longer but if you eat at or around your TDEE, you should be ok.0
