How much difference can i make in 5 months?

CW: 140
Height: 5'6
Female, 25 years old

I've fallen off the wagon in the last month; I split up with my boyfriend and have found a new love of going out at the weekend drinking the night away and waking up to eat everything everything bad in sight and then 'emotional' eating in the week because i am home alone and think it's ok, and as a result of this i have gained 5lbs.

So, this is where i need to push myself and get back on track as i'm off to Thailand for a month on 16th December and i want to look fit and healthy.

I currently have fat everywhere, flabby tummy, flabby thighs, slight bingo wings... my tummy is the worst, not going to be a hot look in a bikini.

Is it possible that if i have the cleanest diet i could possibly have and exercise reguarly (5/6 times a week) my body will see some serious changes by then? i have just over 5 months to do this, i'm ideally looking to lose 15-18lbs.

My exercise regime is a mixture of all sorts - spinning, kettlebell training, body pump, running...

Thanks :)

If you stay on the wagon i think you'll easily lose that. A pound is 3500 calories, so if you wanted to lose a pound a week which is probably the most someone your weight should lose and still be healthy you should aim to have a 500 cal deficit a day. Or, maybe a bit more of a deficit a day so you can have a 'cheat day' once a week. :)

This is 30 pounds. This is hard work and only 80 days. There are 152 days in 5 months.

I've managed to lose 23 lbs in less than 5 months. Granted I started at a much higher weight 167 lbs and I am shorter 5'4" but still. I was off and on the wagon all the time. I even had like 2 non-consecutive weeks of binge eating and really bad choices. I always have a cheat meal or day every week, otherwise I go crazy. So I say you can totally do it!

It's going to completely come down to... your dedication, your intensity, and your nutrition. It's doable, but it will take work.
