Does anyone have any advice on what br scales I should buy? Mine got left behind when I moved, and I never really liked it anyway. Its such a confusing thing to shop for!

I have a cross beam counterweight scales but most people cannot afford that nor have enough room in their bathroom or home gym to accommodate it, so I would go with a full digital platform scale. Bear in mind that the cost does not always relate to the quality. If you can find one with a good warranty on it, seriously consider going in that direction - most do not carry a warranty (they are not made to last).
Here's a link to a review of a number of platform bathroom scales. It might help you sort out the options.0
