Do you have a cheat every week? Is it a whole day or just 1 meal? Do you log or not bother? Does it seem to affect your weight loss?
Just curious:)

I prefer not to "cheat" as that implies I am doing something bad or wrong. Personally, I just make room for whatever I want in my daily allotment when I'm able. If I'm not, and I overeat, no big whoop... I just log in and move on. One meal or even one day won't make or break my goals... it's the overall trend as time passes. Calories/week or month is far more important than calories per day.

That said, if day to day is all you've got the willpower for, then just try to fit it in, or log it and move on.

Sometimes you have to enjoy the food... and doing so with responsibility is never a bad thing. I find that using words with a negative connotation like "cheat" lead to a more negative outlook on the process.

"diet" is not a temporary thing to lose weight... diet is a way and means of eating and the best "diets" are the ones you will stick to long term and are healthy and balanced.

No. I eat what I want to eat, I log it and move on to the next day. If I eat over my calories, oh, well. The difference between how I do things today as opposed as to how I did things when I was heavy is that I know what I am consuming on a daily basis and I have taken control of it.

Nope. I live. Sometimes I indulge in treats, higher calorie meals, wine... I don't "cheat". To me that suggests I'm doing something temporary, and unpleasant.

Forget the word cheat, maybe a treat day is a better word.

Everyday has a treat in if for me....sometimes many treats. You know what it all fits into my calorie goals, I don't deprive myself, it's a way of life.
