Has anyone managed to inspire or motivate a family member to lose weight?
If so, how did you go about it?

Working like a dog on it with my parents, especially since they are both diabetic. My mom asked if she could start walking with me a couple times per week. Also, I convinced her to have lean chicken strips instead of beef in the tacos I made them for dinner the other night. I also have them almost completely off of wheat and gluten. So I think it's working! I just love my parents very much and want them to live for a long time. :)

That's the same with me! I've always been my mother's daughter when it comes to body shape. Now that i've lost nearly 50lbs I really want to inspire her to do the same but she doesn't seem to have any motivation :(

I have struggled with some of my family members and getting them to lose weight. I have tried everything - including taking them grocery shopping and supervising their purchases. In the end I came to the realization that I cannot motivate them or force them to lose weight any more than anyone could motivate me. It all has to come from with in.

You can live the best life you can live and pray that they are inspired by your journey. You can invite them to join you with no strings attached and hope it sticks. Until they reach that point where they want weight loss and health more than food - you'll spin your wheels in the mud trying.
