Anyone takes Allopurinol?

I have to take Allopurinol for gout. I've been losing weight on it. My coworker is also taking it and she also lose weight as the side effect.

    I never heard of weight loss being a side effect for that stuff. My mother has been taking it long term (5+ years) for gout and has been obese for years. She's finally losing weight now mainly because we're tracking her calories on MFP. It's awesome; she was seriously overweight for more than 40 years and weighs less now than she did when I was born.

    I am a nurse and have never heard of this side effect from this medication. But if I were you I wouldn't complain about it either :). Best of luck to you!
