When you weigh yourself do you just use a regular basic scale or go all out and get a smart scale?

The scales that are supposed to measure body fat aren't accurate. Save your money and stick to a regular digital bathroom scale. You can use your savings on a digital food scale for weighing your food, which will be more helpful

You will get a more accurate reading of your progress if you get a decent regular scale and a tape measure. I weigh myself a couple times a week and take my measurements on the first of the month.0 -

I don't measure regularly but have lost 2.5 inches off my hips since July0 -
You could get something like the Fibit Aria or a similar wifi-enabled scale. The big advantage with such a thing is you don't need to manually log your weight.
However, I agree with both of the previous posters - the body fat percentage that such scales give you can be very inaccurate and inconsistent. Some folks find that they show a reasonable downward trend; others find that the BF% fluctuates wildly. So keep that in mind if you're considering getting one.
I just have a Taylor digital scale. I'm pretty sure it doesn't give me my true weight (I tested with a 5lb weight and it showed 4.5 lbs), but it gives me a good enough idea of how I'm doing.

you dont need anything fancy. get the scale you like (simple is fine - avoid the weight watchers one though) and weigh at the same time, same place, same clothing each time.0

I have an electronic weight watchers scale - cost me around £30 and doesn't have any added 'extras' that many have these days. I only want to know my weight - I'm not interested in anything else. Less is more sometimes!0
