My 14 Day Journey

Hey everyone,
Just a short bit about myself, I was 6' 265lbs in Sept. of 2012 and wanted to get in better shape. I started eating better, slowly reducing the amount of junk overtime. Since then I have managed to come down to a low of 188 as of yesterday. I know it may seem odd that I am posting here now as opposed to three years ago, but I have been having some trouble with a goal I set myself and need another way to support it. I am going on vacation in exactly two weeks from today. I had promised myself that I would get to 185 on the day I left. Today I had a really bad day food wise, seemingly unable to control myself from eating a large amount of food.
My goal for these next two weeks, (sans New Years) is to stick to my regular meal plan every day, without getting a cheat meal. If, after loosing almost 80lbs I can't eat well for a measly two weeks, I will be pretty disappointed in myself. I'm going to update this post every day for the next two weeks and say whether or not I managed to keep it clean that day I'm definitely pre-planning the days and have written each day down on a sheet of paper so I can visualize how little I have to go. My biggest concern is an upcoming Holiday party where I know there will be an abundance of sweets which I'll just have to refrain from getting at.
So that's all I really have to say. I have lurked on this forum countless times these past three years and it has helped me a great deal. If anyone has any questions or needs support I'm here!

Sounds like a good plan, I wish you all the best. I'm going to try to stick to my healthy eating over the next week and try not to indulge in too much party food\alcohol!!

You could eat at your maintenance level for the next 2 weeks or just be mindful of intake. Don't go all crazy with your intake. Get back to logging after the first of the year.0

Thank You!! I wish you the best as well, this time of year is certainly tough!queenliz99 wrote: »You could eat at your maintenance level for the next 2 weeks or just be mindful of intake. Don't go all crazy with your intake. Get back to logging after the first of the year.
Thank You, I agree with what you're saying and will definitely hit maintenance and be alright with that some days. The biggest driving force is that I don't plan on really modulating my diet while on vacation... hahaha
Day 1 Update: I worked out for a good while, I am catching a cold so I decided to get some buffalo chicken and toasted raviolis, I don't think I will have gone much over maintenance today so I am alright with this, (Sunday is usually my cheat day) also, so I'm not going to fret. I'm going to be strong tomorrow and ensure that I keep it together on Thursday at the party and Friday since I won't be at the gym.0 -
Day 2 Update: Had some sweets but still managed to come in way under maintenance when factoring in my workout.0
-
Day 3 Update: Did much better then yesterday, just a few sweets. Hopefully tomorrow I'll eat perfectly!0
-
Day 4 Update: Ate way too much smart pop but still came in way under maintenance. Tomorrow is the party and my biggest test0
-
Day 5 Update: I did terribly, the scale did say 186.8 this morning which was nice but I ate a ton over maintenance. I will just cut my loss and start over tomorrow.0
-
Day 6 Update: I ate mostly crap, but managed to come in way under maintenance.0

My favorite thing about holidays is that I am usually moving a lot more than in "real life".
Just keep moving and doing your exercise to make room for your holiday treats.
You are doing great.0 -

Thank You very much for the support!! I agree, the extra movement and activity around the holidays is helpful.
Day 7 Update: I ate a whole bag of some of those super low calorie chips and a pint of ice cream which is apparently 300 calories. I got back to the gym though and burned off 1k cals so I am way under maintenance for today. It just felt so wrong eating a whole pint of ice cream and chips even though they weren't high calorie. So I suppose it was a fine day.0 -
Day 8 Update: Burned off another 1k in the gym, but did eat a lot to compensate. Still way under for the day.0
-
Day 9 Update: I ate fairly poorly but burned it all off at the gym. Managed to be under today.0
-
Day 10: Had sweets today as well but came in under today as well.0

Look at you rockin it! Well done.0

BigJohn, have you thought about the whole 30 at all? It seems like sweets have been on the mind a lot and I know 5 his eating plan really helps decrease that.0

I have lost 2 lbs in only 2 days I have been eating and staying under my cals recommend it's mainly because I don't feel that hungry. I was on weight watchers but over like 6 years I would always go back to my starting weight and I feel this plan will help me so much.0

Thanks very much!MamaColie2015 wrote: »BigJohn, have you thought about the whole 30 at all? It seems like sweets have been on the mind a lot and I know 5 his eating plan really helps decrease that.
I have never considered any special diets or plans and I don't see that changing, however when I get back from my vacation I am going to be majorly re-assessing my diet and might see a nutritionist as well. I swear I don't normally eat this many sweets but the time of year means they have been too abundant in the house!
Day 11: I probably came a couple hundred over maintenance but I'm not too concerned about it. I'm 187 flat now and have put on a decent amount of muscle since I started this thread so I'm pretty happy. I'm going to stop weighing myself now and go on my vacation, I'll still update the thread for Thursday and Friday though!0 -

Thats excellent! Just stick to it and it will happen for sure. One thing i've learned is you can't put too much pressure on yourself and sometimes if you need a break, you need a break.
Day 12: I ate poorly but still worked out for a while. No fretting though because I had planned for this today0
