Best Workout for Middle Section?

I recently put on a good 15 lbs, which was a good thing for me because I've always been really thin, and have had trouble gaining weight. I was struggling with having food allergies and finally got it under control. But it seems that the majority of the weight has gone to my stomach. A year ago I had a tight, muscular stomach, and now it's gone kind of muffin top and flabby. What would be the best exercises to do to get this back under control? I'm sick of having to keep buying new pants!

Abdominal fat is not a function of exercise selection.

Lose weight and you will eventually lose abdominal fat.

Fat loss comes from what and how much you eat. If you want to build abdominal strength, then I’d recommend squats (especially front squats), planks, and hollow holds. But to lose fat off the abs, you’re going to have to lose fat overall and that is mostly from diet.

I only weigh 118 lbs and am 5'6". I am already on a very strict diet because I'm allergic to milk, wheat and soy with an autoimmune disease called eosinophilic esophagitis and have been seeing a dietician to gain/maintain weight. The only place the weight has been going seems to be my stomach. I'm not sure how I can eat any healthier. I go running 3x a week, thought that would help, but my stomach is still flabby.
