Why did I gain?

I started MFP on Novemeber 30 and I am down 5.9 lbs.
I am very thankful but here is my question...I get weighed once a week, but sometimes during the week I get on the scale just to see what's going on.
I know I probably shouldn't do that!
Last Sunday's weight was 200.3lbs.

On Wednesday I was 197.3.

Today for official weigh-in I was 200.7lbs.

My goal is 1.5 a week, so I am still good...but I just don't understand how that happened?

I am VERY strict about the calories.

I count a breath mint.

I don't estimate.

Over the past 2 years I have gone from 338lbs to 200.7 today (the first 100+ was done with Weight Watchers).

I'm happy with my loss over the past 3 weeks but why the gain??

Please help!

Are you weighing yourself at the same time each weigh in? Maybe its water weight?

If you're certain you're accurate with your logging, then it's water weight. Did you have more sodium or carbs than usual? That means more water is being retained by your body.

0.4 lb is an entirely normal fluctuation. You've gained nothing.

    Higher sodium intake
    Increase in exercise
    TOM
More food in your system that hasn't been digested yet
    Inaccuracy in counting

Weight loss is not linear. Watch the long-term trend rather than day-to-day or week-to-week.

    All of this.

Also if it's close to your TOM that could also account for water weight.

Congrats on the huge loss! I'm surprised that you've lost over 100 pounds and never experienced a fluctuation, water gain, or similar. I fluctuate daily and weekly so am not alarmed by a small gain. In fact I totally expect it. I use Happy Scale too and recommend it!

    122 lbs lost, 18 mo.

Thank you all so much for your help!

I did have fluctuations on WW, I guess I just hoped that now that I was counting everything, you know, there wouldn't be a fluctuation! But what you have said makes a lot of sense! Thank you so very very much!!
