Hi everyone. I'm glt, a 68-year-old female who's in pretty decent health, but needs to lower cholesterol AND avoid diabetes. I need to first lose 16 lbs and after that, strive to lose another 10. (I don't think of it as 26 lbs cause that sounds too hard.)

Five years ago I dropped 20 lbs within a three-month period with virtually no effort (just stopped eating meat of any kind). I've kept off that weight, but having a hard time losing more. Being vegetarian doesn't prevent me from indulging in Whiskey Sours, pecan pie, fried onion rings, etc. This time I'm willing to change my ways as I work for the weight loss.

Fortunately, I love to walk. It's just hard to do every day because of demands on my time. But now I'm more serious than I've ever been. For the first time in 68 years of living, thanks to Fitbit & MFP, I'm actually counting calories. I'm only on my second day with MFP, but seems it's going to be a great resource & motivator.

Anyhoo - Glad to be in your company. Good luck to you all.
