Leg Press Alternative

Hi, everyone! My gym doesn't have a leg press machine. What's the best alternative? In my workout, I also do barbell squat. I'm wondering if wide-stance goblet squat can do the job since both of them put emphasis on the thighs (if I'm not mistaken) ? Thx!

The barbell squat is fairly similar to a typical leg press machine. The complement to the barbell squat is the deadlift or Romanian deadlift, which emphasize the backside instead of the front. Lunges & step-ups also complement squats due to their emphasis on stabilization.
Check tutorials on Youtube for proper form for all of them.0 -

What are you trying to get from the Leg Press that you think you're going to miss? Because of the mechanics of the Leg Press, the hips never fully extend so glute and hamstring activation is limited; it's very quad dominant exercise. Since you already squat I think many other exercises are a better alternative even if your gym does have a Leg Press. Step-ups and Lunges especially when rotated with side-to-side or turning are excellent exercises to help develop much of the musculature involved in the Squat and even moreso than what's activated in the Leg Press.0 -
