I need some help. I'm 20 years old and I'm 260lbs I also have severe asthma. What kind of exercises can I do to help me without hurting me? I have been taking walking breaks at work does anyone have any other ideas?

Honestly, walking can be your best friend. Just get out there and take a trundle. Be sure to manage your asthma while doing it. When you're starting out, you can build up slow and taking a walk can be hugely beneficial.0

Walking breaks are excellent, increase speed and duration as you can
You will lose weight by watching your food intake but exercise is really going to help you get in control of your condition

What kind of asthma? Exercise induced?
What are your goals beyond weight loss? Bodyweight programmes might suit you...any kind of progressive resistance is excellent whilst in defecit

I am asthmatic, and after a serious bout of pneumonia that laid me low for the better part of a year I totally lost faith in my ability to move / trust my body and that's when my biggest issues set in...thanks to a personal trainer and commitment I am now back in control of my body ...being pushes and reassured with a mixture of cardio, calisthenics and heavy weights
I've been mainly asthma meds free for this year ...only started back on steroids last week due to a mild chest infection0 -
I have exercise induced asthma it used to not be very bad but about 6 months ago it took a serious turn for the worse now if I don't take my asthma meds everyday I can't breathe without user my rescue inhaler. I'm trying not to look at weight loss as a goal I'm trying to get healthy I want to be able to feel good about what my body can do and have energy and not depend on food.0

For weight loss, all that's needed is a calorie deficit. As long as you eat less then you burn, you will lose weight. You can start by getting yourself a food scale. Accuracy is important. Learn about weighing your foods and using measuring cups for liquids. Then learn how to log it all here accurately.
Walking is a good idea ! Do what you can ! Remember weight loss comes down to calories!0 -

Sure, I get that, but losing weight will help improve your asthma so you will have to get your food intake under control
I think the walking is a good idea but I think you should get in touch with your asthma team and ask for a structured programme as exercise induced asthma just means you have to be more careful
Perhaps join a gym to avoid being out in the cold air which can be problematic, also go for activities with short intense bursts of activity maybe yoga or Pilates or even weightlifting, which is truly the best thing I ever did. Alternatively low effort over a longer period like gentle swimming, golf and the walking you're already doing0 -

1) Talk to your dr, make sure you are on a long term prevention plan. Needing to take rescue meds daily means your prevention plan is failing. If you mean you need to take prevention meds daily, good, this is what is supposed ot happen. The need for daily rescue meds should be eliminated and this means you need to adapt your asthma management plan. Maybe you did not need a long-term plan before, and you might not need onein the future, but now, you do. If you are just upping your rescue meds on your own, this is not what you need, go back to your dr. But long term management plans usually mean daily meds, nothing weird or bad there.
2) Walk and then walk some more. If you cannot do physically more now, no problem. Walkign is great exercise, and it is enough. Slow down, take breaks, and keep walking.
3) Make weight loss a goal. Losing weight will improve your health, so nothign wrong with focusing on the scale right now.
