For some of you, this is a journey that's just begun, for others, you can most likely relate to what I am going to say.
I started out in April 2013, I was 150kg, suffering from depression and drug problems, not something I hide from my life but something I'm always happy to discuss with others. I was so unwell both psychically and mentally I didn't even want to be alive.
I began that day in April, simply weight lifting, I was fortunate enough to have a gym in my garden wirh all the equipment I needed to get going, and after reading for hours on Google the best diet to attain, I began.
Weight lifting wasn't a completely magic fix but it installed a level of confidence in me that managed to keep me going, I was losing weight relatively quick and could feel stronger, I knew it was working.
January of this year I managed to get down to 110kg, losing an impressive 40kg, and so far this year, I've lost a further 25kg by integrating a solid cardio plan and alternative muscle groups within days rest.
The journey doesn't have to be as difficult as it is in your head, along the way you are complimented and reminded by others that it's working, your clothes are getting baggier, your sleeping better and you have more energy.
The real moment for me only happened this month, when I realised I could run for miles and felt as light as a butterfly, I feel free for the first time in my life.
Whatever you do, do not give up, whether you've cheated on your diet or you feel like your not losing weight, improving Strength and building a better cardiovascular system is your priority, weight loss is just a side effect, even when you have bad days, you can still make a different to your health.

Well said Rob. I started at just on 150kg too and I'm maintaining at 78kg. Weight lifting has made all the difference to me, I love that I'm not only smaller but I'm strong with defined muscle. And there's just something about being physically able to lift heavy stuff and put it down when before I got out of breath just walking.0
