Starting week 2, what I learned

so its been one week so far and I've learned a bit.

First is that I've either overestimated my calories, underestimated my activity, or something else because 4.7 pounds in one week is odd, especially since my cycle is nearing an end and I should be putting on water weight. Perhaps this might be due to my reliance more on salads, fruits, and meats for my calories and not so much bread and carbs.

Second is that holy hell yesterday sucked. I'm at work checking on stuff and I start to feel dizzy. But I've had my lunch and I'm drinking my water and still feel bad. I get home and I pig out on pizza. Lesson of the day: EAT MORE LUNCH. I'll have to cook more chicken today for the salad. I'm used to not having to eat lunch because I'd eat a lot at the start of the day and that would carry me over. But with smaller breakfasts, that is no longer an option.

Lesson three, I love chocolate and cider. I WILL NOT give these things up. And why should I? I budgeted them in and I still stayed within my goal.

Why do you have to have a smaller breakfast? If you want to eat a bigger breakfast and a small lunch, what is stopping you? Also, 4.5 pounds in one week isn't that peculiar as you have just started losing weight. A large amount lost in the first couple of weeks is a regular thing.

Pre-diet breakfast: a hot pocket, large diet soda, and a donut.

Now I have a hard boiled egg and a fruit.

I eat on the way to work or class, so mainly I eat what is convenient.

One point to add.. big losses are typical in the first few weeks because people generally drastically reduce calorie intake, which can lead to glycogen depletion, reduces of food volume in the GI tract and reductions in sodium.

As it relates to the dizziness, this can pertain to dehydration and/or potentially too few calories. But I don't know how much weight you are trying to lose. Do you exercise?

Why not add a slice of toast or something if it is gonna keep you fuller for longer?

It might be a good idea for you to have a big breakfast and to skip lunch. :)
Is that what you need? :grey_question::grey_question:

Your breakfast is small, have a bigger breakfast and also a good sized lunch - good meals will see you through the day and you'll not feel the way you do....

The first week will always see a nice whoosh of loss, it will slow down to around 1 - 2lbs a week which is perfectly normal.

All the best on your weight loss journey
