Do us a favor and share some positive wisdom about fitness, health, weight loss, life in general...I just turned 55 and I have found that when I was half my age I thought people twice my age were stupid old people...Now I see that people half my age are pretty cool..at least the friends I have.

Bring it!!!!

Here is my 52 yo wisdom...(you've probably heard this from me before) "Life is not a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside, thoroughly used up, totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming, "WOW, WHAT A RIDE"!!!!!

I have done all I've wanted to and am living a full life. Regrets? Dont we all have one or two...or at least wishful thinking.

When I was a kid, I thought I would be really old or dead at the year 2000 it seemed that far away. I couldn't even do the math!! Lol! Now look at me..ran my first marathon and am looking to qualify for Boston in Sept. I was a smoker from 12 to 29 and wasted all that time when I could have been running!

So advise? Dont smoke and you can have all foods you want ,just not a lot of it! and yes, you can change your life at any age! Good habits can replace bad ones. Its a choice and its hard but suck it up and do it! You only live once ;make it count ;it goes by so darn fast!

Yeah, I've got a few things. One of the best pieces of advice I've ever heard was "Live life through the windshield, not the rear view mirror". Looking back is pointless and will drive you crazy.

It's never too old to change. You're never too old to learn. And you are never too old to kick the *kitten* of some young whipersnapper in the gym. lol. 9 months after Total Knee Replacement, I'm in better shape than I've ever been in my life. I'm in a jeans size I haven't been in since high school, 40+ years ago. I will outwork everyone in the gym if I have to. The word NO isn't in my vocabulary any more. Failure is not an option.

Laugh every day. Compliment someone every day. Karma is a ***** and she will bite you hard if you haven't paid her well. Celebrate life's little victories. Revel in what you have, don't despair about what you don't. Hold onto friends and loved ones. For they truly are the only thing that really matters.

Last night I was out with my partner at karaoke. And I sort of felt compelled to sing something that has sort of become a theme song for me. It speaks about where I am in my life. I'm sure you will know the tune:

And now, the end is here
And so I face the final curtain
My friend, I'll say it clear
I'll state my case, of which I'm certain
    I've lived a life that's full
I traveled each and ev'ry highway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

    Regrets, I've had a few
But then again, too few to mention
I did what I had to do and saw it through without exemption
I planned each charted course, each careful step along the byway
And more, much more than this, I did it my way

Yes, there were times, I'm sure you knew
When I bit off more than I could chew
But through it all, when there was doubt
I ate it up and spit it out
I faced it all and I stood tall and did it my way

I've loved, I've laughed and cried
I've had my fill, my share of losing
And now, as tears subside, I find it all so amusing
To think I did all that
And may I say, not in a shy way,
"Oh, no, oh, no, not me, I did it my way"

For what is a man, what has he got?
If not himself, then he has naught
To say the things he truly feels and not the words of one who kneels
The record shows I took the blows and did it my way!

If you can get up and sing that song honestly because the words truly reflect your life, you've done things right. And it is never too late to do things right.
