Fitbit charge HR & Recumbent Bike?

Hi, I bought a fit bit charge HR recently and was using the exercize mode to track my calories burned etc when on my recumbent bike at home and it seemed to grossly underestimate and undertrack my calories burned while on the bike. I was on there 40 minutes going at a pretty high resistance consistently and it said I burned only 79 calories. I had my fit bit on my wrist of course. Anywhere else to where it while on a recumbent bike to get a more accurate calorie burn count? I am wondering if attaching it to my shoe or something would allow for more accurate tracking.

The Fitbit Charge was never designed to track any type of cycling. According to Fitbit, the Surge is their only device that has that option. I don't know how the accuracy would be though.0
