Just a quick note to anyone out there afraid to lift weights becasue it will stall weight loss and make them look "bulky'. This is complete bulls!@#t. Unless you are a genetic freak, eat a consistant surplus and lift heavy weights over a long period of time, you WILL NOT gain a significant enough amount of muscle to affect your appearance. I get tired of people worrying about gaining weight from weight training while I lift like a mad man, eat 200 grams of protein a day, and only gain about 1/2 lb. of muscle a month. This amount of muscle only makes me look leaner nad keep my BF% down. It in no way shape or form makes me look bulky. If you feel like weight training is making you bulky, it's probably that you're eating too much.

I've always been slim and pear-shaped.* Direct weights on my lower body make me more pear-shaped. So I avoid them.
Believe what you like.
*This is true even when my body fat percentage is around 17%, as it is today.0
