Hey!
I'm in recovery after breaking both my ankles/legs and having surgery on both. I was wondering if there were any other recovering/recovered people out there with any tips and tricks for me.

Yes, I was in a car accident so I have had to take it easy for a while. I have been swimming a lot because that is easy on the body and taking walks daily. Also I have been doing the exercises that they teach me in physical therapy at the gym.0

I had back surgery! A bunch of tissue removed, 6 screws put in, and a bunch of other hardware. But the doctor said I'm lucky that I wasn't paralyzed so I'm grateful. Fellow wounded people feel free to add me. I feel the pain of having to be extra careful when doing things like exercise.0

I blew out my knee a little over a year ago. They had to replace my ACL and PCL with cadaver tendons and repair my MCL. So I understand the struggle of rehab. I sent you an add request.0

I sprained my ankle really badly while doing a lateral run exercise over some obstacles. I joined this site to monitor my weight. All I really could do was wait to recover. It took over a year and my ankle still doesn't feel as good as new and I assume never will.
Don't use your enforced rest to over-eat.0 -
I;m 5 weeks over surgery for a LP shunt, also had a disc removed year and half ago. Just started back walking the last two weeks. Wasn't able to do any exercise for quite a long time. I just started off with 10 mins twice a day and built it up each day. I;m now up to 30 mins and 25 mins a day0

I've had back surgery, too. No screws, thankfully. Take it easy.0 -
I bruised my femur and sprained my knee on March 15th... no gym for 90 days and on crutches! I am finally back to moving a bit, but it is slow and not very productive seeming... If I can burn 100 calories in the gym I feel like it was a good day. I ended up still losing 4 pounds in the time... I just kept really close track of my calories and forgave myself if the weight wasn't coming off as fast as before. Now that I am on the road to recovery, I know it will pick back up again... a big exercise in patience! Good luck on your healing, it will get better! Have a great weekend.0

I just recently was able to start working out again after foot surgery about 2 months ago. Start slowly, and really put the focus on your diet for weight loss. Keep working out your arms and core and do things like punching and speedbag for cardio. The most important thing is the heal. You can get into shape in a few months. You want to make sure you're not pushing yourself too far and giving yourself problems that will cause problems for life!0

Broken Fibula with a plate and 10 screws. 11 Weeks post surgery, riding a bike and weight training. Hopefully be running by end of summer but keep chin up, I too am looking for some exercises that will get the heart rate up with low impact. Wanted to swim but thunderstorms every nite this week makes it tough0

I have a bulging disk in my back. Right now its not acting up. But I have to be careful with certain exercises.0

I had ACL replacement and Meniscus repair surgery about 7 weeks ago. Just got off my crutches this week but I am still very limited. I just really focus on my physical therapy and hope for a quick recovery.0

Bump as I'm interested in strengthening the ankle - seriously thought I broke my Left ankle on my run last night, as it gave out. Just have a really bad case of a sprain/Achilles tendinitis.0
